The room is warm and full of light. There are potted plants crowding the windowsill with their leaves pressed up against the the windows, all green and translucent. Fabric is strewn all around the room, piles are folded on the shelves and tossed onto the tables. There is a thick journal laying among the mess with fabric and lace scraps poking out of the pages. Take a peek! See what I've been working on.

This is a page to document all my lolita sewing WIPs. This doesn't include my everyday sewing or anything I've crocheted or knitted either.

This is muslin! Planning on making this into a shirred op with detachable shirred sleeves and frayed edge details.
to do:
-patterning for the bustier + sleeves (+square circle)
-measurements for the skirt (and decide on ruffles and/or tiers)
-cut and assemble! no hemming!...... but will need stay stitching

I had a white button up dress I loved but hated the neckline. I tried altering it and cut the neckline wayyyy too low so now it's unwearable. I HAVE been wanting a white skirt though, so hopefully it works out.
to do:
-finalize design
-add the lace and other yet to be decided details
-make and attach waistband (half shirred)

This used to be a dress I made that didn't fit me very well.
to do:
-finalize design
-figure out what lace I need and buy it
-add lace
-make and attach waistband

I thought this fabric might look cute as a nun-esque op. I was thinking something like these ops:

to do:
-finalize design
-buy fabric for the white parts
-find pattern pieces that match the design
-draft patterns the parts that need to be drafted
-cut out fabric
-put together

I wanted a fully shirred jsk... I also wanted a long length dress. I had 5 yards of this lovely fabric that was too thin to use as a single layer. I also happened to find a listing for deadstock velveteen ribbon that perfectly matched the green in this fabric. I'm not sure why all these ideas coalesced into one object but they did. I need to actually go look at this mess again because I'm not sure where and why I stopped working on it.
to do:
-finish and attach the straps to the bodice
-sew the elastic channels
-add the elastic
-hem
-matching accessories

I have this in the black x black colorway. I bought this knowing the zipper was busted, but it turns out the lace is absolutely fried as well. So I'm goning to have to replace it.
to do:
-add zipper
-replace lace

I saw this skirt and wanted to make my own version of it. I found these 2 cute fabrics in my stash from my grandma and they seemed to suit each other well.
to do:
-finalize design
-buy lace for the hem and the corset detailing. will need more ribbon as well.
-might cut out the corset and just have 2 rows of lace
-this is why finalize design is the first step

I didn't mirror my pattern pieces when cutting them out. I've finally decided to just live with this. It was inspired by the blouse in this violet fane series.
to do:
-sew all pieces together
-make and sew facings
-button holes and buttons
-make and attach cuffs
-hem

I got the fabric while visiting my home country and decided to make a skirt with it. I was inspired by this JSK I owned https://lolibrary.org/items/victorian-maiden-rose-scallop-jsk where the ruffle is sewn on top of the skirt instead of just “right sides together”.
to do:
-hem the bottom of the skirt, and the edges of the ruffle
-attach the ruffle to skirt
-maybe add some lace on top
-make matching tie
-make headdress (if there's fabric)

This gobelin set was the first lolita sewing project I started. The skirt was technically done for a while there, but then I changed weight. The bustier has a horrible fit as well, so I'm debating if all it needs is some minor fixes or for me to recut the whole thing. I wish I had made the stays-style bustier pattern before I started this project.
to do:
-add zipper
-reattach waistband
-decide how much fixing the bustier will need.
