The path gets muddier and muddier the further you walk. You hear the tricking of water but when you reach the creek it's a slog of mud and silt. The mud is slippery here. The water is slow enough and clouded enough you can see the reflection of the leafless trees behind you. You lean closer to see your own reflection and you slip. You’re able to catch yourself on a branch next to you, but a chunk of mud falls into the water and disturbs the water.
